KHALIFAT MOUNTAIN- ZIARAT

Khalifat Mountain is located in Sulaiman Mountains Range in Ziarat District of Balochistan , Pakistan. It is the second-highest peak of Balochistan.

Khilafat mountain is at the height of 3,475 metres (11,401 ft) and it is  surrounded by  famous and second  largest  juniperus macropoda (Junipers) forests of the world.
The aerial view is breathtaking. On a clear day it is possible to see as far as Sibi town at the bottom of the Bolan gorge. The wild olive, forest on other side is also visible from this mountain. at the top, The expansive view of grass and shrubby growth in the plains below, along with juniper trees, give an impressive  view
The leading route to khilafat mountain is from Zizri village from where it goes  into the forest along the eastern flank of the Khalifat mountain. After crossing the forest,  towards  right direction one has to enter a narrow chute which ends in a sheer fall to the right and a rock wall to the left. The rock wall, which requires a bit of free climbing, gives access to a rocky plateau,
With a short climb along the side of a sheer drop, and then up through more dramatic crags of limestone, to arrive at a slightly smaller plateau at 2,835 m. A wide grassy gullies lead sharply up between two lines of craggy outcrops. At the upper end of this deep gorge, bear to the right to climb another similar feature which ends in a wild rocky jumble. This is where a beginner might begin to flinch, for the scramble is now up rock faces with precarious toe- and hand-holds in front, and sheer falls behind. The prize, after some 40 minutes of this climb, is the first glimpse of the orange and red flags that mark the peak of Khalifat. The panorama is impressive.
Khalifat peak is not easy to climb. The route is difficult. For climbers it is a real challenge. The climb  can be attempted by  those who are very fit or those who have some mountain climbing experience.A guide is essential for climb.

Karez in Ziarat District

Karez is a human-made underground channel that passively taps the groundwater, conveys it by gravity through that channel to villages at the valley floor, where it becomes their lifeblood.

The natural water ways which flow just below the sandy surfaces are some time appearred on surface by themselves and sometime they are dig them out for usage. At places where this water is seeping in as a natural spring they put some sort of pound around it.
